Forest Advisory Committee

Mission Statement

The mission of the Forest Advisory Committee (FAC), a standing sub-committee of the Freedom Conservation Commission (FCC), is to implement the requirements of the New Hampshire Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (NH DNCR) as documented in the Freedom Town Forest Stewardship Plan.

Goals

The goals of the FAC are to promote sustainable forest practices, maintain forest ecosystems, and protect wildlife habitats. Objectives include the development of an annual forest maintenance checklist, implementation of coordinated burn strategies, an annual work plan with a contracted forester, scheduled testing of forest water bodies, and access to forest trails.

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the town hall. Interested parties in a vacant position should contact the town office at office@townoffreedomnh.gov
